Airborne Ruggedized

This product has been designed to withstand harsh airborne conditions. Flight Display Systems has partnered with an unaffiliated third party for testing on certain products to confirm that they meet the strictest requirements.

FAA PMA Approved

This product is approved for Parts Manufacturer Approval (PMA) by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). It can be shipped with FAA Form 8130-3. See a complete list of all FAA PMA approved parts that we manufacture. Parts Manufacturer Approval was initially issued to Sirius Technologies, parent company of Flight Display Systems, in 2003 after establishing a fabrication inspection system as required by FAR 21.303(h) under the provisions of FAR 21.303(d). Full requirements for parts produced under a PMA are identified in FAR 45.15. Sirius Technologies holds PMA letter PQ1716CE.

16:9 Widescreen

The aspect ratio of an image is the ratio of the width of the image to its height. 16:9 is the international standard format of HDTV. It is a widescreen display capable of showing 720i, 720p, 1080i, and 1080p images.

NVG Enabled

This monitor can be configured for use with night vision goggles (NVG). Toggling a switch on the monitor faceplate changes the display backlighting to a night vision-compatible mode. Otherwise, bright colors such as red, white and yellow can cause the auto-gain feature of night vision equipment to protect the system by reducing the level of light intensification. This reduction in gain leads to diminished visual acuity for the user. Colors used in display modes not optimized for night vision goggles can also create increased glare and reflection.

Touchscreen Enabled

Control on-board items with the touch of a finger using this resistive touchscreen display. Access a greater number of controls than is possible using a panel composed of physical switches. This monitor connects to the computer via an RS-232 connection. Software drivers enable the product to be used with a variety of custom software applications.

Bezel Keys

Bezel keys are typically used to send one or more characters to a computer running advanced software applications. Users can assign up to 20 characters to each bezel key and decide where on the LCD monitor they would like the bezel keys installed. Customers can also request that a USB port be included on the monitor faceplate.
